Conference venue

All scientific events will take place at the Bordeaux Convention Center (Palais des Congrès). Poster sessions and exhibition stands will be located in the Multipurpose Area on the ground floor.

Near the Conference Center

Hotels near the conference center are shown below. Some fast-food restaurants have recently opened near the roundabout on rue du Cardinal Richaud, and a large shopping mall is located on the other side of the highway (one or two bus stops, descend at Dassault or Centre Commercial).



Getting there

By car: Take the ring road A630 and exit at n°4 (Bordeaux-Lac / Parc des expositions). Free parking is available.
By tram: From Bordeaux train station, or downtown Bordeaux, take Tram line C towards Les Aubiers or Berges du Lac and descend at Les Aubiers. A bus shuttle will be operating between Les Aubiers Tram stop and the Conference site every morning between 8 and 10 AM. Alternatively, you may continue on bus 14 (Parc des Expositions or Brandenburg) and descend at Palais des Congrès. You may also take Tram C to Berges du Lac and continue on foot (about 15 min, 1.2 km). Trams and buses are ca. every 10 min. and run from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. Please be aware that on Sundays and Monday 14 (Bastille day), trams and buses run every 20 or 30 min, respectively.
To get to Bordeaux from the Conference Center, take bus 14 direction Les Aubiers, and change for Tram C (direction Bègles) at Les Aubiers. For more information:

The desk is located in the entrance hall of the Bordeaux Convention Center.
During the welcome reception on Sunday at the Place de la Bourse, a temporary registration desk will distribute badges to participants, which may then retrieve their conference bag Monday morning at the Conference site.
Registration includes access to all scientific sessions, coffee breaks, welcome reception (Sunday) and wine and cheese (Monday), as well as a copy of the Program Book and the Book of Abstracts (electronic version only).

Scientific sessions

Lectures: Lectures will take place in the Auditoriums A, B, and C. Plenary lectures (PL) are 45 min + 5 min discussions. Invited lectures (IL) are 25 min + 5 min discussions. Oral contributions (OC) are 15 min + 5 min discussions. Speakers should load their presentations (Microsoft powerpoint or PDF file) or connect their device before the beginning of the session.
Posters: Poster sessions will take place Monday (odd numbered posters) and Tuesday (even numbered posters). Posters will be displayed and accessible during the entire duration of the conference. They should be hung by Monday afternoon and removed Friday morning. Posters should be no larger than 84 cm (W) x 119 cm (H) (33 in x 47 in).
Internet: Free Internet access is provided via WiFi in the halls of the Convention Center. Details will be provided on site. No WiFi signal is available in the auditoriums.

Refreshments / Social events

Coffee breaks: Morning and afternoon scientific sessions will be paused during a coffee break (30 min) served in the Multipurpose Area. All registered participants are welcome.
A Wine and Cheese Party will be organized during the Monday evening poster session in the Multipurpose Area. Soft drinks, Bordeaux wine, and cheese will be served. All registered participants are welcome.
Lunches: Participants that have payed for the Lunch option will be served lunch Mon., Tues., and Thurs. in the designated location in the Multipurpose Area. Access to the lunch area will be limited to those that have purchased Lunches as shown on their badge. On Wednesday, a lunch bag will be provided in exchange of the lunch ticket to make the excursions on time. No Lunch tickets will be sold during the conference.
Excursions: Excursions will depart by coach from the Conference site Wednesday afternoon at scheduled intervals (1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., please see announcements for details). Return is expected late afternoon with a stop in downtown Bordeaux and at the Conference site. No Excursion tickets will be sold during the conference.

- Coaches depart from the Congress Center ON TIME
- Return ca. 18:30, coaches will drop off at the Congress Center and downtown (near Grand Théâtre).

EPA reception: A reception is offered by the EPA to all EPA members in good standing and will immediately follow the EPA general assembly (Amphitheater B at 6 p.m.).

Banquet: The Conference Banquet will take place at Château Smith Haut Lafitte on Thursday evening. Participants that have subscribed to the Banquet will leave by coach from the Conference site at 7:30 PM (please be on time). Return is expected around midnight with a stop in downtown Bordeaux and at the Conference site. No Banquet tickets will be sold during the conference.
A welcome reception for all registered participants and accompanying persons is organized at the Bordeaux Palais de la Bourse located downtown Bordeaux from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The site will open at 4 p.m. for registration.
